DDA was approached to renovate the kitchen in this 1927 East Bay mansion in California. The kitchen had a poorly executed late 1980s renovation that left the kitchen dark, with cheap looking and feeling cabinetry, low-end appliances, and very awkward circulation. The clients liked the basic kitchen arrangement, but wanted to improve the connection and circulation between the cooking area and the breakfast nook. The clients sought to improve the appliances, finishes, lighting, and overall quality of the space, but needed to keep the budget reasonable.
